#WWWWednesday: 16 November 2022

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week, I managed to finish five books! I didn’t realise this but I guess that’s what happens when you don’t have much brain capacity to do much else but read books. I’m not mad about it except I’m very ready to not be sick anymore! 🙂

Wolfsong (Green Creek #1) by T.J. Klune ★★★★☆
This was a buddy read with Leslie + Destiny. Friends, I get the hype! Wolfsong is packed with SO. MUCH. EMOTION and Klune managed to turn me into a snotty sobbing mess several times throughout the read. This is a coming-of-age story about finding yourself, finding your people, and choosing your family, and I loved it so much! Ox was everything and Joe was the most precious. Bless the Bennett pack! 🥰

Ravensong (Green Creek #2) by T.J. Klune ★★★★☆
I immediately picked up Ravensong after finishing Wolfsong and I don’t regret it. It’s a continuation of book one but it’s told from Gordo’s perspective and I loved him! He also has such a heartbreaking past but despite these characters being so emotionally and mentally tortured, there’s so much strength to them. I can’t wait to continue this series. 💜

The Ex Hex (Ex Hex #1) by Erin Sterling ★★★★☆
This was a buddy read with Leslie + Julie. It’s a super fun witchy spooky season read and I can see why so many people loved it. It’s super atmospheric, the writing is infused with humour, the dialogue and banter are witty and cheeky, and I really enjoyed these characters. Rhys and Vivi had such great chemistry and I adored Gwyn so much! 😍 [CHECK OUT MY REVIEW!]

Daughter of the Moon Goddess (The Celestial Kingdom Duology #1) by Sue Lynn Tan ★★★½
I read this with Leslie and I’m kinda disappointed I didn’t love this one more! I felt the pacing was off and parts of the story also felt disjointed and choppy but nothing affected my reading more than my least favourite trope: the love triangle. It would’ve been fine if it hadn’t taken up so much space in the story but it did. Sadly, beautiful prose and vivid world-building weren’t enough to distract from my irritation! 😮‍💨

(ARC) Untying the Knot by Meghan Quinn ★★★★☆
This was an emotional marriage-in-crisis romance that still had Quinn’s signature charm and humour. I loved Myla and Ryot, even though I wanted to give them a good hard shake sometimes, but their romance though filled with pain, anger and bitterness, was also full of so many sweet and heartfelt moments. They’re so meant to be together and I loved their journey to finding themselves and happiness again. My review will be up in a couple of hours!

I’m currently “reading” one book: A Ghost in Shining Armor by Therese Beharrie → 45%I still haven’t read any further simply cos I haven’t had the urge to pick this up. Since I’m not sure what to read next, I might as well finish this one so I can review it and clear it off my NetGalley list…

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  1. I am glad you enjoyed most of your books this week, Dini, but too bad about the present one. I have been thinking about the Green Creek books as I loved the two Klune books I read.

  2. YES, WOLFSONG AND RAVENSONG! I read this series at the beginning of this year and I’ve become absolutely obsessed, I love it so much. So I’m very happy to hear you also loved these books and the Bennett pack ❤

    • SO good! I’m so glad that I finally picked them up though I have to be honest I’m not sure how excited I am about the third book cos I like Robbie but I don’t love Robbie the way I do Ox and Gordo. 😂 BUT I do love Kelly so… Let’s see how that pays off, haha! The Bennett pack is really fantastic though. 💜

    • I am! I hate that I’m recovering so slowly but the brain fog was super real. 😮‍💨 I’m now feeling more clear-headed and ready to get back to doing things, like work I guess, lol. 😂 I’m glad that I got a lot of downtime to read though!

    • Omg, I’m sorry! It was when we were supposed to be reading The Ex Hex and I just… GOBBLED. IT. UP! 🥺 I didn’t expect to speed through it so quickly BUT I’m so down to read the third book together if you want to… And you can message me while you’re reading Gordo’s story!!! 😂
