The Last Book I… Book Tag!

Hi, friends! It’s past 9PM right now and I just realised that I didn’t prepare a post for today—oops! So I decided to go for an easy but super fun book tag that I first saw on Becky @ Becky’s Book Blog. Apparently, The Last Book I… Book Tag has been circulating on Instagram but since I’m not really on there anymore, I don’t know where it originated etc. If you do know, please let me know and I’d be happy to include the credit. But without further ado, let’s get to it!

THE LAST BOOK I BOUGHT

Heh, well, since it was my book birthday I did decide to treat myself to several books this month! Here are five of my most recent buys:

THE LAST BOOK I BORROWED

The only books I’m able to borrow are from Kindle Unlimited! Here were my last five borrows:

THE LAST BOOK I WAS GIFTED

Most recently, Leslie @ Books are the New Black gifted me these three books for my birthday! 💜

THE LAST BOOK I GAVE TO SOMEONE ELSE

Most recently, I gifted Leslie these books for her birthday (which is one day before mine)! 💜

THE LAST BOOK I STARTED

If two-pages counts as starting, I started Malice by John Gwynne last night before passing out 😂

THE LAST BOOK I FINISHED

The last book I finished was Falling for the Enemy by Katie Golding and I absolutely loved it. It was tender, heartwarming and also steamy AF. The chemistry between these characters was explosive! 🥵

THE LAST BOOK I RATED 5-STARS

The last book I rated 5-stars was Everything for You by Chloe Liese. It’s no secret the Bergman Brothers series is one of my all-time favourites and Chloe Liese is an author I adore, so it’s no surprise this was my last 5-star read.

Check out my review

THE LAST BOOK I DNF’d

I think the last book I DNF’d (or Did Not Finish) was Love at the Icicle Café by Denise N. Wheatley. I didn’t click with it at all and it was supposed to be set in Germany but it was very American! 😂 It was just… Not for me.

THE LAST BOOK I LISTENED TO

I have A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers as an e-book but I decided to follow along with the audiobook and I’m glad I did because I really enjoyed the narration!

And that’s it, folks! This was lots of fun to answer and it was just the kind of easy tag I was looking for today. I won’t be tagging anyone but feel free to tag me if you decide to do it cos I’d love to see your answers! 💜

    • It’s SUCH a gorgeous cover omg 😭 I’ve been dying to get a copy as well and even though it was pretty pricey, I decided to treat myself when I saw it in the bookstore cos it’s my *birthday month* and all of that! 😂 Hopefully, I can still manage to read it before the end of May! I hope you can get a copy of it soon!

    • It is *very* nice when friends gift books and I feel so lucky to have made friends on here who I can do that with 🥰 I’ve only read two Katie Golding books and her stories lean a bit more towards erotica but I really enjoy her writing and couples! The mix of sweet domestic moments and steamy goodness is *so good!* 😍

  2. I love that you traded book gifts with each other 🥰 that’s some good friends. Also I hate when a book is meant to be set in s country but the wiring doesn’t match it at all. I see it a lot in dialogue that sounds way off 😅

    • The most frustrating and unrealistic thing was that no one was actually speaking German? Like, somehow, in this very small German town *near* an American base, everyone spoke English all the time. Sorry, but that’s completely unrealistic and I mean, why not just set your book in America then? 😅

      • Yeeeeahh. When it’s very American speech patterns, it kills me. I cringe most when it’s an American trying to write British characters but not realizing how many words are different between them, so the only British thing about the way they speak is their accent

  5. Ooooh, happy to see Open Water as one of your recent purchases. It’s such a unique book, because of the second person POV, but I thought it was great. I hope you’ll like it!
