#WWWWednesday: 02 March 2022

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I’ve finished six books since last Wednesday and most of them were shorter reads (>300). It’s been quite a restless reading week with me picking up and then quickly abandoning many books because nothing took. I did have two 5-star reads (one a re-read) though so I guess there’s that? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Best Men (The Best Men #1) by Sarina Bowen & Lauren Blakely ★★★☆☆
I read the prequel Super Hot Wingman (#0.5) and wasn’t entirely feeling the chemistry between our MCs but thought that’d change once I started The Best Men. Sadly, it never really got there. It wasn’t a bad read but I just wanted a bit more of their backstories, connection, everything?

Anne of West Philly by Ivy Noelle Weir ★★★★☆
I read this graphic novel for an upcoming tour. It’s a modern retelling of Anne of Green Gables which I admittedly haven’t read but I still enjoyed it! The art was wonderful and the character growth was fantastic. My blog tour review is coming this Friday!

Chef’s Kiss by Jarrett Melendez, Danica Brine (Illustration) ★★★★★
This was my re-read and I think it’ll become a comfort re-read in the future too. It’s adorable and I loved it so much 😍 Check out my review!

The Worst Guy (Vital Signs #2) by Kate Canterbary ★★★★★
So… Say hello to my new favourite Canterbary romance! Sebastian was a lovesick fool for Sara and I am a total simp for Sebastian. Like, this man? *bites fist in squee* I was not ready for how much I loved this and I want to gush about it endlessly. Thanks to Nick for gushing so hard about this one!

Wasted Love With You (Wasted Love With You #1) by Whitney G. ★★☆☆☆?
I was pretty excited for this new release after reading a preview of it earlier this month. Sadly, whether it’s my current mood or I don’t know what, I ended up not vibing with it at all. I didn’t care about the characters and I was 100% confused the whole time. I’m sad this didn’t work for me! ☹️

I’m currently reading Royal Captive but I’m not rushing the read. There’s a lot happening and the stakes keep getting higher and it’s making me slightly nervous! So, I’m balancing that out with some smutty romance. 😂 I don’t read much taboo romance but I am enjoying Sin & Ink!

March is a tour heavy month so I’m hoping to shake off this funky mood I’m in! I also have a buddy read with Julie and Leslie coming up and I can’t wait for that! 😍

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  1. So, Whitney G’s book was a serial on her website. It might have come across better that way. But I also think that I didn’t get to know the characters enough. Maybe the next book will help with that. At least you had Bowen’s and Canterbary’s books to tide you over.

  2. This weird mood has been so crazy this month! I’m hoping that last month… is keeping our moods there. I cannot wait for the buddy read with you and Julie! Will be a lot of fun. Let me know how Magic Steeped in Poison is because it’s on my TBR!! I hope you have an amazing week, Dini. ❤

    • Ugh, I hope we leave this mood behind soon, Leslie! I also can’t wait for our buddy read with Julie—I think it’s defo gonna help me shake of this funkiness! 😍 Will defo let you know how MSIP is. I can’t wait to dive in although sadly the ARC is a PDF and so it’ll take me longer to read 😂 Hope you have a fab week too, Leslie!

  3. I feel like there has been a lot of Anne of Green Gable retellings lately. I just saw another on Netgalley today, lol. I hope you enjoy your upcoming reads!
