Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

Ah, another Sunday come and gone and I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow! I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday in bed with my ARC of Puck Shy by Teagan Hunter. You might’ve seen me reading a few of Hunter’s romcoms and they’re always a fun & steamy read! Hunter is now delving into the world of sports romance focusing on the NHL and this is the first in her new Carolina Comets series! I’m having fun with it so far 😊

I’m having the definition of a bad year.
Game Six loss costing my team the Cup? Check.
Getting arrested and ruining my image? Check.
Almost getting run over after my car breaks down? Oh, look—a hat trick.

My contract is up with the Carolina Comets this year, and I need to get it together if I want to stay with the team.

I need relaxation, not a relationship.
But when I’m scrolling on a dating app and stumble across the pretty girl who almost ran me over, I know I can’t let her walk away this time.
Harper is funny, smart, and doesn’t care about hockey.
I’m not supposed to be focusing on anything other than my career, yet I can’t get Harper off my mind.
I know I shouldn’t fall for her…but I think I already have.

PUCK SHY is a standalone hockey romantic comedy. It’s good, low angst fun with some hot hockey players.

What are you currently reading?

Well, this week as a whole was pretty uneventful… I got my new passport in preparation for when travel will open up again for Indonesians (yay!), I finished a book or two (yay!), I visited my brother (yay!) and… I pretty much spent my whole weekend lost in Zelda: Breath of the Wild (super yay!). This game is amazing and the world is STUNNING (and every inch is explorable) but the only problem is I now can’t stop playing… 😂 Every time I tell myself that I have books that need reading, my mind immediately goes back to the game and I get itchy fingers until I can get my hands on the console again. I wish I could read a book and play my Switch at the same time LOL!

Though I’ve managed to finish a book or two this past week, I haven’t actually done much reading since… Friday? I have also been slow on the blog front because of the gaming! Whoops… Here’s what I’ve managed to post this week, ICYMI:

First Lines Friday: 22 October 2021
Blog Tour Review: The Secret Garden on 81st Street: A Modern Retelling of the Secret Garden by Ivy Noelle Weir
Quick Fire Fantasy Book Tag!
#WWWWednesday: 20 October 2021
#TopTenTuesday: Online Resources for Book Lovers!
ARC Review: Given to Darkness by Phil Williams
Book Review: Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous by Suzanne Park

  1. This is my second sighting of Puck Shy. It’s means I have to check this out. I am always looking for more sports romances to read. I only play those real gentle type games (think AC, cooking mama), but I do appreciate the storytelling and world building in some of the other games. Maybe you can listen to an audiobook as you play? That could be your two-fer

    • Ooh, I haven’t seen mentions of Puck Shy “in the wild” yet I’m glad you’re seeing it! It’s a fun and super quick sports romance with very likeable characters 😊 I usually play gentle type games too (AC forever!) but I dabble in other more action-filled games too mostly for the story and graphics 😂 I might try listening to an audiobook while gaming but I’m *very* easily distracted so that sadly might not work!

    • Haha, I’ve never played Zelda before either but I couldn’t resist! The graphics are so gorgeous but I keep getting sidetracked from the main story cos I want to explore EVERYTHING. I love open-world games 😂
