Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

Since I finished a dark fantasy last night I’ve found myself in a bit of a restless reading mood and found it difficult to keep focused on any of the few reads I currently have going. The most I could focus on was Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson and I’m still really enjoying it. The world building is exceptional and I’m loving so many of these characters! Does this mean I need to prepare for their eventual demise? 😭

Warbreaker is the story of two sisters, who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, a lesser god, and an immortal trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago.

Theirs is a world in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren’s capital city. A world transformed by BioChromatic magic, a power based on an essence known as breath. Using magic is arduous: breath can only be collected one unit at a time from individual people.

But the rewards are great: by using breath and drawing upon the color in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be performed.

What are you currently reading?

Compared to the previous week, this one was very uneventful! Perhaps the most “exciting” thing to happen was that I decided to reorganise my shelves this weekend—and I instantly regretted it cos it’s one helluva full body work out, I’m feeling all the aches and I’m not even done! 😂 I’m dusting and wiping as I sort plus I’m mostly winging the reorganisation cos I have no idea how I want to shelve my books… Something I probably should’ve thought harder on before starting! Welp. Here’s minor progress photos… It really only looks messier but I’m slowly realising that I have more shelf space than I thought!

Sadly, I only had about 30mins today to focus on this because it was my great aunt’s birthday and mum decided to invite her over for a small lunch (that turned big because she has so many grandchildren!) and I spent most of the day preparing and cleaning up before and after. I’m EXHAUSTED, I feel like I have about two brain cells to spare right now and I can’t absolutely cannot wait to collapse into bed! 😂

Also, Nintendo had the huge Animal Crossing updates announcement in the direct the other day and… half my Twitter is abuzz with so much excitement! Anyone else super keen to start playing again? Let me know if you want to be friends so we can play together sometime 😃

Although I feel like I haven’t read much this week I actually completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge yesterday! My goal was to read 150 books and I really didn’t think I was going to complete it since I was in a restless reading mood for much of 2021, but I managed to do it thanks to my sudden romance binges! I don’t plan on increasing my goal so late in the year but I’m gonna keep reading as per usual 😉

  1. Books are HEAVY lol…I had to move books when we redid our floors this past summer, talk about aches and pains. And YES…so excited about Animal Crossing, to the point my son and I deleted our islands and are starting over lol…I love all the new features they are adding!

  2. But an aunt’s birthday and reorganising your shelfs sounds like excitement! And I think it’s going along great. You are doing an amazing job.

I have a lot of games on my switch but Animal Crossing is not one of them. I don’t think I know what it’s about at all? XD

  3. 150 books?! That’s amazing!

Haha I always look forward to reorganising my bookshelves and then I take everything off my shelves and I feel INSTANT REGRET. It looks like it’s going really well, though! It’s so satisfying when it’s all done.

Warbreaker is the one Sanderson novel I’ve always been interested in, so I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it when you finish it! 😀
