Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday finishing Seducing the Sorcerer by Lee Welch. I’ve never heard of this author before but I picked it up cos I saw Nick @ The Infinite Limits of Love review it and since it sounded like a fun MM romance, I thought I’d give it a try! It took a while for me to get into it but I’m enjoying it so far! These two are such softies (outside of the bedroom) and I they’re so awkwardly sweet together! ❤️

Homeless and jobless, Fenn Todd has nearly run out of hope. All he has left is his longing for horses and the strength of his own two hands. But when he’s cheated into accepting a very ugly sackcloth horse, he’s catapulted into a world of magic, politics and desire.

Fenn’s invited to stay at the black tower, home of the most terrifying man in the realm: Morgrim, the court sorcerer. Morgrim has a reputation as a scheming villain, but he seems surprisingly charming—and sexy—and Fenn falls hard for him.

However, nothing is as it seems and everyone at the tower is lying about something. Beset by evil hexes, violent political intrigue and a horse that eats eiderdowns, Fenn must make the hardest choices of his life.

Can a plain man like Fenn ever find true love with a scheming sorcerer?

This work week was a bit of a slog and now I can’t believe it’s already another Sunday and I have to prepare to work again tomorrow morning 😭 To distract myself from my sad work situation, I kicked off October and the weekend by watching Corpse Bride! I forgot how short it is but it’s classic Tim Burton and I still loved it! I also bought a new bed this weekend as it’s something I’ve been planning to do for a while now… It’ll arrive on Wednesday evening just in time for me to assemble it on Thursday morning. I’m SO EXCITED! 😍

It was also a bit of a gaming weekend as I lost myself in Unravel Two on my Switch and Detroit: Becoming Human on the PS4. I love both games and recommend them, but the latter is an amazing thriller game and the storylines are so freaking good, not to mention the graphics are insane! 😭 I also played a board game with my cousin and sister for the first time in a long time. We played The Quacks of Quedlinburg and it was relaxing and fun but still competitive(ish)!

This week I found one of my favourite reads of 2021 and it absolutely shattered me! I’m still reeling from The Goddess of Nothing At All but I highly recommend it! It’s been a slowish blogging week and I haven’t been interacting as much and have quite a few comments to catch up on… Here’s what’s gone on the blog this week:

Blog Tour Review: The Goddess of Nothing at All by Cat Rector
Book Tour Review: As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson
September Monthly Wrap-Up!
#WWWWednesday: 29 September 2021
Book Review: Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson
#TopTenTuesday: First Lines, Favourite Reads!
Book Review: The Rake of Hearts by Emily Windsor
Goodreads Monday: How It Feels to Float by Helena Fox

WEEKLY TRACK HIGHLIGHT

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

  1. Hope you have a better week at work – okay my son recognized the Unravel Two game lol, I asked him if it was some sort of Pikmin (my kids love Pikmin) and he was like no mom, those are not Pikmin. But they look sort of alike! Anyway looks like a fun game and sometimes we just have to lose ourselves in gaming! 🙂

  2. The Corpse Bride is one of my favorites. 😍 I also quickly passed the title Seducing the Sorcerer and because I did that I thought it said Seducing the Coroner. 🤣🤣
