#TopTenTuesday: New-to-Me-Authors from 2020…

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2020 (if you didn’t read 10 new authors, that’s fine! Just do what you can)

I thought this was gonna be hard because my memory fails me but I took a quick look at my 2020 reading challenge and had to give myself a smack upside the head because the majority of the books I read last year were by new to me authors. 😂 If you’ve seen my December monthly wrap up and my 2020 yearly wrap up none of these titles will come as a surprise because I’ve mentioned some of them quite a few times (*cough* House in the Cerulean Sea *cough*), but all of these books and authors deserve to be read so I won’t stop gushing about them! Also, I’m mentioning 15 authors because there were so many new and amazing discoveries! 😍

Colson Whitehead
Elizabeth Lim (series)
June Hur
Jessica Townsend (series)
Zoraida Córdova

Chloe Liese (series)
Teagan Hunter (series)
Talia Hibbert
Jen DeLuca
Kate Clayborn

T.J. Klune
R.F. Kuang
B.B. Alston
Natalie Mae
Aiden Thomas

Were any of these authors also new to you in 2020? Are any of them new favourites? Who were some new-to-you-authors in 2020?

  1. Dini! never rely on your memory. That’s what we have Goodreads for (and thank goodness for that LOL). Half of these TTT posts wouldn’t be possible for me without Goodreads.

Surprise! We have a lot of these in common. Wait … are you not surprised?! xD I’m still so glad that you enjoyed Nevermoor! I can’t wait for your reaction to the rest of the series.

Also, I somehow forgot B.B. Alston from my list? Even though I read it at the very end of last year, I keep thinking of it as a 2021 read for some reason. Maybe because it came out here in 2021 lol.

    Here’s my TTT post.

  2. Great list, Dini! Jessica Townsend made my list this week, too! I’m reading Amari and the Night Brothers at the moment and enjoying it and, as you know, I FINALLY read The House in the Cerulean Sea and loved it so I can’t wait to explore Klune’s backlist. 😀 I need to read Incendiary this year and I’d like to try The Silence of Bones as well!

  3. Sooo many wonderful authors and books on this list! I am so glad that you enjoyed Nevermoor, House in the Cerulean Sea (new to me, too) and Poppy War!! I can’t wait to see what you think about the rest of the books in those series. I can’t wait to see what other awesome authors we read this year! Great list, Dini! ❤

  4. Great list Dini! I love Zoraida Cordova ( I may have already emailed the publisher to request an ARC of Incendiary), Elizabeth Lim ( also emailed about Six Crimson Cranes), R.F. Kuang, B.B. Alston and T.J. Klune so much! I’m also really looking forward to picking up Silence of the Bones & The Kinder Poison because your reviews made them sounds amazing!

  5. Great list! I love Talia Hibbert–her books are so much fun. I really wanted to read Incendiary last year, which would have been my first by the author, but I just didn’t get around to that one. Maybe this year! 🙂

  6. I just got the ARC of Love at First by Kate Clayborn, and it’ll be my first time to read her. I’ll have to go back to Love Lettering later on. And I recently picked up a copy of Well Met. I’m anxious to get to that one, too! And, of course, The House in the Cerulean Sea is at the top of wish list. 😉 Happy reading, Dini!
