Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I managed to finish three books:
Love thy Neighbor (Roommate Romps #2) by Teagan Hunter ★★★★☆
The second book in Hunter’s latest romcom series was everything that I loved about her Texting series. I loved Caroline and Cooper’s best-friendship and their romance was swoontastic! Their connection as friends was undeniable but their chemistry WAS ABSOLUTE FIRE! 🔥🥵 Review coming soon.
The Bitterwine Oath by Hannah West ★★★★☆
You know I’m The Ultimate Chicken™️ so I can’t believe I read this, but at the same time I’m so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone! West has written an extremely chilling atmosphere in this story involving witches, magic, spirits and demons. There’s a touch of romance that I actually enjoyed, but the “supernatural girl gang” vibes won me over! Check out my review.
The Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward ★★☆☆☆?
I admit I picked this up for the cover but it was an incredibly short read which was also appealing. I didn’t expect there to be much development in the characters or relationship, and there wasn’t, so that wasn’t really disappointing. I waffled between liking Riley and Kennedy and their office email mix-up meet-cute, and for the most part they were okay, but there were certain things that put me off (“…not to mention, hearing that no man had planted his flag on planet Riley in a very long time made me a little crazy.”), and in the end I didn’t feel invested at all in their romance. It wasn’t memorable and I’ll probably forget that I read it soon!

I’m cutting it real close in finishing Steel & Stone tonight for my stop on the blog tour tomorrow! It’s an interesting story, I like the concepts and themes, but I find the writing a bit clunky and there’s a lot of angst… So it’s looking like a 3-star right now?
I’m about 70% of the way through Spellbreaker and I’m itching to get back to it and finally finish it. I love Elsie and Bacchus and the mysteries just became more intriguing! I’m also keen to get back to Amari and the Night Brothers as soon as I’m done with the other two reads. I’ve only read about 10% of it and I’m really loving this MG fantasy so far!

I have a few blog tours quickly coming up and I need to get on these reads so I might even put aside some of what I’m reading to read some romances…? Who knows!

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading? Hope the rest of your week goes well!

That’s too bad about The Pact. Usually Keeland and Ward are pretty good with their short stories. Oh well! Happy reading 🙂

Yeah, I usually like this duo but this short just didn’t work for me. But I guess we can’t always like everything 🙂 Happy reading to you too!

I just downloaded The Christmas Pact thanks to KU – lol, and I have Spellbreaker on my tbr, want to try the audiobook if I can get it from the library. Also the new Chloe Liese sounds fantastic.

I’m on the sequel to Spellbreaker right now (Spellmaker I think…) and it’s good to be back in the world with those characters (although it wasn’t long ago since book 1–she writes soooooo fast LOL) Enjoy your reading, Dini!

Ooh I was debating whether to pick up Spellmaker right away or not but I decided to *finally* focus and finish Kingdom of the Wicked before moving onto other reads. But I think I won’t leave it for too long. Hope you enjoy it, Lisa! Can’t wait to see your review for it 😄

It’s good so far! Also proving to be a quick read–I just need to find time for reading! Who knew my social calendar would be filled up during a pandemic! All these zoom calls with friends and game groups…. LOL

Haha, I totally get it. I thought I’d have more time to read but it’s definitely been up and down and lately there’s been so little time 🙈 Quick reads are the best for sure!
