#TopTenTuesday: Books I Want to Read Again

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: Books I want to read again.

Well, I thought that this was a pretty fitting topic as just last Friday, I shared my thoughts on rereading and I said that while I’m not much of a rereader, I would like to do it more–if only it weren’t for all the books sitting on my ever growing TBR! I didn’t mention in my post what books I’d like to reread again so what a perfect time do it with this TTT!

Almost all of these are part of a series and they’ve made it onto this list because my memory is the worst thing to exist™️ and I need to refresh it before I move onto the final book in the series. The standalones are because I remember loving them so much when I did read them (some as far back as middle school!) but I don’t recall (m)any details now so it might even be like reading a brand new book again, which is always super exciting! Yay for having terrible memory! 😂

Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle #1)

The House on Mango Street

An Ember in the Ashes Series (#1-3)

Grishaverse Series // Six of Crows Duology

The Black Magician Trilogy

Throne of Glass Series (#4-6)

The All Souls Trilogy

Shantaram

Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet

lowkey can’t even remember reading this book at all but i rated it four stars so…😂

The Caraval Series (#1-2)

So, do you reread books? What books do you want to reread? Have you reread any of these or do you want to reread any of these too?

  1. There are SO many books I want to reread but my TBR just won’t let me! 😅 I need to pick up A Discovery of Witches ASAP – I didn’t know it was a trilogy!! Hope you get to all of these soon and love them just as much as the first read! ♥

    • Ugh, the nerve of TBRs to be ever-growing, eh?! 😂 Haha that’s definitely one of the reasons why I don’t reread as often too! It’s been so long since I’ve read tons of these titles and I have a feeling that it’ll be just like reading them (mostly) for the first time! Thanks Erin ❤

    • Thanks Jess! I hope you enjoy all these! I feel like with the ones you mentioned it’ll almost be like reading them for the first time again coz it’s been so long and my memory is so horrible! 😂

    • Haha I know, I keep forgetting that I still haven’t finished it but… Yeah. I’ve heard sooo many mixed reviews about it that I’m not sure how I feel about picking it up LOL I hope we both enjoy it though 😉

  2. I can’t believe I forgot to include the Caraval series on mine, and the Grishaverse books?? Definitely need to re-read them if I managed to forget about them all haha!

I’ve also seen Sabaa Tahir’s books on a few different lists today, so it’s maybe time to finally pick those up…

    • Hahaha there are just too many books that we all want to reread that it’s no surprise that we sometimes forget certain titles 😉 And YES! An Ember in the Ashes series is so good–defo a great series to pick up!

  3. Oh my gosh I have SO MANY books that are like Brand New Books when I’ve read them again. I not only forget how they end, I sometimes forget entire characters (a recurring problem with, say, boyfriends in YA novels I read as a teen. Who Are They? Not relevant to Young Late Bloomer Me, that’s for sure.)

I *feel* like my memory has been vastly improved with the advent of writing reviews on Goodreads longer than a couple of sentences (and the fact that I reread my old reviews regularly, haha), but that leaves hundreds of potential like-new rereads. I like to think of it as Reading Recycling.

    • OH definitely! I signed up for Goodreads in 2012 but only started to really use it for writing reviews in 2018? Much regret for not writing reviews sooner because ever since I started doing that I’ve found my memory has also improved a fair bit and I remember stories/characters for much longer than my “norm”! As it is, well, I suppose that I should be happy that I can reread many of these “like new” coz I enjoyed them so much the first time, right? 😂

    • Ah, I remember when I first picked it up around the time it came out. I had no idea about the book community then but I was shocked I had never heard of the book before because it was SO GOOD! Haha I hope my reread makes me feel the same way 🤣 Hope you enjoy it too whenever you get to it!

  4. Totally wouldn’t mind a reread of Name of the Wind. Also Six of Crows! Also I really want to reread A Discovery of Witches because I want to read books 2 and 3 and it’s been a hot minute so I need a refresher haha.

  5. Ugh. My memory is the worst, too. I think it’s why I can reread so much. I always have to reread the previous books in series–or at least find a very in-depth synopsis. 😉 I still need to read the Throne of Glass series!
