Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve been you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending the rest of this Sunday in bed with I Killed Zoe Spanos. I’m reading this for the blog tour coming up next week but for reasons that I’m sure have 100% to do with my mood, I’m struggling to get into it. I put it down to read something else last week but I’m hoping that when I pick it up now I’ll find it easier to get into! It’s being compared to Sadie and I loved that book so I’m hoping I’ll end up loving this one too!

This gripping thriller follows two teens whose lives become inextricably linked when one confesses to murder and the other becomes determined to uncover the real truth no matter the cost.

What happened to Zoe won’t stay buried…
When Anna Cicconi arrives to the small Hamptons village of Herron Mills for a summer nanny gig, she has high hopes for a fresh start. What she finds instead is a community on edge after the disappearance of Zoe Spanos, a local girl who has been missing since New Year’s Eve. Anna bears an eerie resemblance to Zoe, and her mere presence in town stirs up still-raw feelings about the unsolved case. As Anna delves deeper into the mystery, stepping further and further into Zoe’s life, she becomes increasingly convinced that she and Zoe are connected–and that she knows what happened to her.
Two months later, Zoe’s body is found in a nearby lake, and Anna is charged with manslaughter. But Anna’s confession is riddled with holes, and Martina Green, teen host of the Missing Zoe podcast, isn’t satisfied. Did Anna really kill Zoe? And if not, can Martina’s podcast uncover the truth?

I shouldn’t be surprised by now but I can’t believe another week is over and we’re already entering the final week of June! This last week saw me swamped with work but also battling that constant struggle to feel motivated. My lack of motivation has been such a drainer because it makes me feel so guilty, but I’m happy to say that the week ended on a positive and productive note, so there’s that. I’m hoping that the week ahead continues on that Friday note! One thing I definitely have to start doing this week is packing because I’m meant to be leaving at the end of the week and I haven’t touched any of my stuff or even got sorted with moving boxes 🙃 Welp. But it’s okay, one day at a time. Or at least, that’s what I tell myself! LOL

Reading & Blogging Recap

It’s been an okay blogging week but I’ve surprised myself with how much I’ve managed to read this weekend alone! I finished three books this weekend, friends, and we know how impossible that has been for me to do in one week (let alone one weekend) ever since Animal Crossing came into my life 🤣 So even though my blogging and hopping hasn’t been what it once was, I’m proud at least of this!

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

Top 5 Saturday: Books I Need to Finish
Review: The Storm Crow (The Storm Crow #1) by Kalyn Johnson
First Lines Friday: 19 June
#WWWWednesday: 18 June
Book Spotlight: Crossing in Time by D.L. Orton

Goodreads Monday: The Secret History by Donna Tartt

TRACK HIGHLIGHT

I don’t know how I missed this song because I love Khalid and Disclosure and this track is banging. I discovered it mid-week and haven’t stopped listening to it since. It’s upbeat, I love the positive message and I can’t stop bopping every time it comes on ! I am convinced Khalid can do no wrong 🖤

I hope everyone is managing to stay healthy and safe. If any of you ever need an ear or someone to talk to, please know you can always reach out. Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

    • Just finished it this morning and… I think it’s a half-half. I haven’t heard of Hither Page and I’ve been saying for ages that I want to read more historical romances so I’ll check her out 😀

      • I’ll add you Dini! Haven’t been playing much this last few days because I’m still working like crazy but I hope it gets better in the next few days and I’ll have more time to dedicate to my little island. 🙂
