March Monthly Wrap Up!

Wow, March is really over? I have passed through the majority of this month in a total daze! My brain seems to think that WFH means “slacking off as much as possible” 😅, especially towards the end of the month. But I also blame that laziness and inability to focus on the purchase of a Switch Lite and Animal Crossing New Horizons… *cough* It was one of the best non-bookish decisions I’ve made in a while and I ain’t mad about it but also, *welp*, real life is just so miserable compared to setting up on a deserted island and building my own community with fun fluffy neighbours?!

But I digress (that’s also happening more these days)! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s going to say that I’m feeling weary AF with all this negative energy and news… Living with my nan also does not help. You’d think that spending all my time at home being surrounded by books means that I’ve been making progress in cutting my TBR down. That’s unfortunately not the case when you’re a mood reader like me 😔 Still, I managed to read 15 books though the majority were read before mid-March!

I don’t even know what to say about March that I haven’t already said in countless posts this month. My reading momentum at the start of the month was great — especially since I was running off the “blog tour read energy” I had going from the previous month. I started to slow down once the blog tours for the month finished and that obviously became worse with the whole pandemic and purchase of my new console! Peoples, this pandemic has not only sucked away my physical energy but my mental energy too. I’ve been so exhausted this month despite doing almost nothing. Maybe I need to start getting physical at home by running around the house a few times? 😂

My favourite read from this month was Words in Deep Blue. It got me so hard in the feels but really made my appreciation and love for the power of words come to life. It’s such a beautifully written story and the author also writes a very realistic portrayal of grief and the process of “overcoming” it. I would highly recommend it!

I’m really hoping the pull to read comes back to me soon because otherwise I’m gonna be mad screwed for my April blog tours and eARCs! 🙃 We’re going to remain optimistic though!

Other reviews I posted this month:

I hope that everyone has had a good reading month despite the craziness that’s unfolding worldwide. I hope you’re also all staying safe and healthy wherever you are! Here’s to a better month ahead 🙂

  1. You had a great month! I’m in the same situation. I just don’t seem to have the drive to read at the moment. But I’m determined to push past it. I think I just need something completely engrossing. 😉

    • Thanks Dedra! It wasn’t a bad month but it certainly wasn’t as great as I thought it could be because I had all this time… And I had to go buy a Switch instead of picking up another book 🤣 Woops! Haha. I’m determined to put my console down in exchange for a book 🤣 Hopefully I find something that will consume me!

  2. Wow, you had a crazy good reading month! March felt like it went on forever, didn’t it? I know what you mean about the lack of motivation – I think we’ve all been feeling that.

I’ve heard so many good things about Words in Deep Blue (and I LOVE the cover) – I should give it a try!

    • Thanks Jess! March did feel like it went on forever but I also felt like it went so quickly too? I think that’s defo to do with the fact that everything’s done from home/out of my room! I hope all of us feel motivated again soon 😃 Aaand if you do pick up Words in Deep Blue I can’t wait to hear what you think of it coz it’s just 😍🥰 Happy reading!

  3. Sleep Dini. We just need to sleep through this mess. I’ve barely been conscious the past few days and when I have been conscious it’s a wired type of awake from which I soon crash…. what a messed up time for all of us. Just be gentle with yourself, self kindness is paramount <3333

    • Oh gosh, what I wouldn’t actually give to be able to sleep through this period?! I mean, I think that would be the start of a total sci-fi/dystopian scene right there 😂 All this weird energy in the world is making my insomnia so much worse! LOL I hope you’re doing okay otherwise though my dear ❤ ❤ ❤

  6. Great wrap up, Dini! You had a great reading month, I’ve read a few and enjoyed them (The Underdogs #1 and #2 are soooooo good) and I have a bunch of these on my TBR too. I’m so curious about Nevermoor, I need to order it! I’ve also added Only When It’s Us to my TBR because it sounds so good. 💛
