Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [49]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve been you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

This Sunday I spent the day chilling in bed with Warcross. Yep, I haven’t finished Warcross yet. It’s not because it’s bad (because I ended up reading 150 pages in 2 hours last night!) but because I’ve been wanting to wait until closer to the group discussion date to finish it. I don’t think I can wait anymore though. I will be finishing it in bed tonight (hopefully…)!

When a game called Warcross takes the world by storm, one girl hacks her way into its dangerous depths. For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life. Struggling to make ends meet, teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter, tracking down players who bet on the game illegally. When Emika hacks into the game illegally, she’s convinced she’ll be arrested, and is shocked when she gets a call from the game’s creator, the elusive young billionaire Hideo Tanaka, with an irresistible offer. He needs a spy on the inside of this year’s tournament in order to uncover a security problem … and he wants Emika for the job. In this sci-fi thriller, #1 New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu conjures an immersive, exhilarating world where choosing who to trust may be the biggest gamble of all.

What are you currently reading?

So in all honesty, I’ve spent the weekend (since Friday) betraying all my books because I have straight up abandoned them, and it’s all thanks to the impulsive purchase I made last week to get a Switch Lite. Getting a Switch has been in the cards for a while but my sister, playing the role of devil’s advocate, convinced me I didn’t need the Switch, I just needed the new Coral Switch Lite and I needed it ASAP. So… Here we are! I’ve been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons and Spyro Reignited Trilogy (reliving my childhood!) all weekend and it has been a dream! This distraction is exactly what I’ve needed and although that means a weekend of abandoning books, I can’t say that I’m not still living my absolute best life right now 🥰

Reading & Blogging Recap

Thanks to that gaming life, I haven’t touched a book since Friday and I haven’t written the reviews that I said I would write after finishing two more books last Wednesday! Oops. I am feeling a little guilty about it but not guilty enough to stop playing? 😂 What am I like! That said, it’s been a little slower on the blogging front this week and I even missed yesterdays’ Top 5 Saturday (😫) because by the time I looked up at the clock it was already… 2AM. Oops again? I still plan to do it though but it’ll be posted in the coming week sometime! Anyway, ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

First Lines Friday: 27 March
Anonmymous Bookaholics Tag
Review: Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
#WWWWednesday: 25 March
#TopTenTuesday: Best Families/Friends in Romances!
Review: The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club #1) by Lyssa Kay Adams
#5OnMyTBR: RomComs
Goodreads Monday: NOS4A2 by Joe Hill

How has your week been? Did you get a lot of reading done?
Hope you had a great weekend!

    • Warcross was SO good! I can’t believe it took me so long to finish it BUT those twists were perfection! I was expecting one of them but the other one had me super thrown! Haha (what a vague comment but don’t wanna give spoilers of any kind to someone who might see this) 😂

  1. Ha! Animal Crossing has taken over our house, too. (By my kids, not me. 😉 Although I understand the appeal!)

So many people have been recommending Warcross to me lately. Happy to hear you’re enjoying it!

    • Haha it’s SO ADDICTIVE! Like, I don’t even know how I end up spending so much time on it but this kind of rote play is quite relaxing… 😂 Also, YES! I’ll hop on the recommend wagon because Warcross was so good! It’s not perfect but thoroughly entertaining ❤

  2. Oh gosh, seeing that sleek Switch Lite is making me want to impulse buy one and play Animal Crossing too 😭. Your weekend sounds super relaxing even if you abandoned the books haha 😄!

    • Haha I know the feel because… I caved into that feeling (with a little push from my sister 🤪) and … Well, I definitely don’t regret it but also, bye-bye reading time because it’s all gaming time now 🤣 Haha

  3. I really wish I had a switch right now because everyone is playing the new Animal Crossing and that’s one of the few games I actually love! Hope you’re having fun with it. ❤
