Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [48]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve been you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I spent a good part of the day in bed finishing Words in Deep Blue and I was a silently blubbering hot mess by the time I reached the end. This one basically screamed at me to FEEL MY FEELS (I definitely did that) and who doesn’t love a book about books? There is a little bit of teenage angst in the romance and although one of the characters begged to be throttled throughout the read, I thought all of them were portrayed realistically and well. What I’m trying and failing to say is: READ THIS. You won’t regret it!

This is a love story.
It’s the story of Howling Books, where readers write letters to strangers, to lovers, to poets.
It’s the story of Henry Jones and Rachel Sweetie. They were best friends once, before Rachel moved to the sea.
Now, she’s back, working at the bookstore, grieving for her brother Cal and looking for the future in the books people love, and the words they leave behind.

What are you currently reading?

It has been quite the week, friends! My office closed regionally this week and we’re all WFH until the end of the month. I know I’m not the only one when I say it’s been really hard to focus and find motivation during this period, but I did have a couple of good working days last week and that did make me feel pretty accomplished. I just wanted to say, if you’re feeling overwhelmed and need someone to talk to but aren’t sure who to reach out to, YOU CAN REACH OUT TO ME! I’m here ready to listen and talk about whatever you want to talk about if you need it 💜

I had a group call with two of my besties last night and we talked about finding a way to bring some levity during this tough time, and we were thinking about starting a podcast or using some kind of platform to host discussions about different topics (books, movies, fun stuff!) but we were also trying to find a platform that’d make it easy for people to comment/join in discussions if they want. Do any of you have any ideas about platforms where this can be done? Would a podcast be cool? Or a live group chat stream?

Reading & Blogging Recap

I’ve legit been trying to write this blog post for the past four hours but I keep drifting back to this new web comic that I discovered earlier today called Check, Please and I kid you not when I say it is literally the best thing ever. My heart cannot take so much cuteness (and swoon-age) but it needs so much more of this comic! If you need something happy, cute and super wonderful right now and don’t feel like you can concentrate on reading a novel, I’d highly recommend checking this web comic out! You can read the whole thing online (link above) and did I mention it’s the best?

On that note, things have been business as usual on the blogging front and here’s what I posted this week ICMYI:

Top 5 Saturday: Magical Realism
eARC Review: Only When It’s Us (Bergman Brothers #1) by Chloe Liese
First Lines Friday: 20 March
Reading Habits Book Tag
The Mountains Sing Blog Tour: Book Review
#WWWWednesday: 18 March
#TopTenTuesday: Spring Possibility Pile!
eARC Review: What the Other Three Don’t Know by Spencer Hyde
Goodreads Monday: House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas

How has your week been? Did you get a lot of reading done?
Hope you had a great weekend!

  2. Word In Deep Blue has SUCH a good cover! I’ve seen it around the blogosphere and will probs give it a read when I’m in the mood for something on the sadder/feels side. Great post 🙂

    • It has a great cover AND the inside is just as wonderful as its outside. It’s a wonderful book that I think many book lovers will relate to very much ❤ I would definitely recommend it for when you're looking for something that'll make you feel all the feels. It was sad but left me feeling happy by the end too!
