Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last Wednesday I’ve managed to finish four books and three of them were four blog tours!
Jack Janson and The Storm Caller by Andrew Marsh ★★★☆☆
I don’t normally read MG books but I am always keen to step outside my comfort zone. I read this for a blog tour and it ended up being more enjoyable than I anticipated! I can definitely see the younger audiences it’s aimed at really enjoying the story and connecting with the characters. It’s a good introduction to fantasy! Check out my full review.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Adapted & Illustrated by Fred Fordham ★★★★☆
This was a very quick read that I finished in a matter of a few hours. It’s a good adaptation of the classic and really brought the story to life. While the art style wasn’t my favourite kind, it very much suited the era of the book and gave it a ‘old school/classic comic feel’. Would definitely recommend it for those who would like to read the classic but don’t have much time. RTC
Havenfall (Havenfall #1) by Sara Holland ★★★½
This was my first book by Holland but I’m keen to check out her other books now. Due to the mystery element this was a much slower paced fantasy than I expected but it was still enjoyable. I kept second guessing who could be trusted, but I’m glad I got the villain right at least! I read and reviewed this as part of the FFBC Blog Tour! Check out my full review.
The Mountains Sing by Nguyen Phan Que Mai ★★★★★
This book was absolutely stunning. It was such an intimate telling of Vietnam’s history beyond the Vietnam War and from the unique perspective of a northern Vietnamese family. This story is filled with so much tragedy, suffering and heartbreak, but also so much love and hope. The Tran family’s resilience and ability to overcome hardship was inspiring and brought me to tears. I’m part of the blog tour for this book so my review will be coming up (sort of) soon!

I still have blog tour reads that I need to get through and these two will be the last ones for a while! I started reading Magic Unleashed (Venators) the other night and I’m only a few chapters in but I’ve been really enjoying it so far! I have so many questions that I’m hoping will be answered as I keep reading. I’m also planning to start reading The Deep and I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little terrified of starting it because I’m the chicken-est of chickens. But the last time I stepped into the world of horror I didn’t regret it (although I was thoroughly spooked out) so I’m hoping I’ll feel the same about this one. This cover though 😍

I have some ARCs that I need to get read outside of the bajillions of blog tours that I’ve signed up for this month. Their deadlines are coming up very soon so I might be a little late in reviewing them but I am going to give then priority after finishing the two I’m currently reading! I can also feel myself craving a little bit of romance but also some backlist fantasies so might check these two out as well!

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading?

Oooh, I didn’t realize To Kill a Mockingbird was turned into a graphic novel! I hadn’t heard of The Mountains Sing, but it sure sounds like an interesting read!
Your current reads are the opposite of mine. xD I just started The Deep, and I plan on started Venators today LOL. I’m glad that you’re enjoying it so far, though.

What do you think of The Deep? I just finished Venators last night. Very quick and easy read but as I’ve mentioned maybe once or twice before, I don’t like really open endings 😒 BUT please tell me levels of scariness/spookiness of The Deep coz I’m maybe probably picking that up tonight?
Also, would highly rec The Mountains Sing if you’re looking for something v. different from the fantasies. It reads like a memoir but it’s not but it kinda is? LOL OK but really I rec it. 🤣

Sooo … I haven’t finished The Deep yet, but maybe will today. xD The bit that I’ve read so far hasn’t been spooky or creepy, and I’ve heard that there’s really not a lot of paranormal/supernatural in it at all and it’s mostly just historical mystery. So … maybe you can sleep without the lights on? 😉

I just realised that I hadn’t linked to my blog tour review but I’ve updated the post and linked it now if you want to check it out *shameless plug* LOL 🤣 It’s a good fantasy but different from the normal fast paced YA fantasies with its mystery element.

What a great week of reading. I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews for Haven Fall and have been thinking of giving it a try. I also didn’t know that To Kill a Mockingbird has been made into a graphic novel. Interesting, but it will make it more accessible to a wider audience.

Havenfall was interesting and I’m curious to see what happens next. Defo different to what I’m used to with YA fantasies! The TKAM graphic novel is really great and definitely makes it accessible to more audiences. Would recommend checking it out if you liked the book. It was great to see the story visualised in this format 🙂

How cool that there’s an illustrated version of To Kill a Mockingbird. I’ve never seen it before.
I plan on reading Credence soon. Hopefully we’ll both love it!

I literally just picked it up this morning and read for like 15 minutes before I had to leave for work but I’m already loving it? Why did I get Elsa/Anna vibes from the first scene with Lyana and Cassi?! Hahaha

Why is Raven and the dove not on my TBR list? I keep hearing about it, but cannot apparently remember to put it on there! (Plus the cover is stunning!)
