#TopTenTuesday: Books with Numbers in the Title

It’s that time of the week again, friends! We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: books with numbers in the title and the minute I read the prompt, my mind drew a straight blank. Had I actually read any books with numbers in the title? Thankfully I have my awesome buddy that’s known as Goodreads to help me figure this out! I found a few titles but I’m not sure if there are enough to amount to ten, so let’s see how it goes!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Read earlier this year, it is probably one of my 2019 favorites! I had a completely different idea of the book at the start, but wow, was I pleasantly surprised by what was served. TJR has a way of making you feel everything.

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. I devoured this story in one sitting (literally from 6pm – 4am) because I didn’t want to put this down! This was my first YA thriller and I was so pleasantly surprised with the Breakfast Club + Gossip Girl + HTGAWM vibes of the story. So good!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. There were some minor slow spots but I was so surprised by how quickly and how much I loved this book. RPO took me on a helluva 80s trip through music and gaming and it was incredible!

Marriage for One by Ella Maise. I still haven’t written a review for this one, but rest assured I loved it. The build up was agonizingly good and the chemistry between our two MCs was so 🔥 !

A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird #1) by Claudia Gray. I was immediately pulled by the gorgeous cover, then the title got my interest, and finally the premise just hooked me.

Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo. I think I read this two years ago and while I remember genuinely loving it, I also can’t remember much of it now? 🙃 Writing reviews has done wonders for my memory, so I’m looking forward to reading this again, and reviewing it this time!

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. This was probably my fifth or sixth Jodi Picoult book after I discovered her in high school. You can do a lot of things in nineteen minutes and one thing is to get revenge. This is a story about a school shooting, and it was heartbreaking and extremely hard hitting.

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. My third TJR read of the year and it certainly solidified her as one of my auto-buy and new favorite authors! I was worried the hype would let me down, but I needn’t have worried because WOWZER. I loved it (and the full-cast audiobook)!

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hosseini. This was the second Hosseini book I read and wow, did I cry or did I cry?! Hosseini doing what he does best with this story.

That Second Chance (Getting Lucky #1) by Meghan Quinn. This was my first Quinn and won’t be my last. I’m a sucker for small town romances and this one ticked all the boxes I love!

Have you read many titles with numbers in them?
If you’ve done a TTT for today, please leave your links in the comments so I can mosey over to your blog and check it out! 🙂

    • I would highly recommend Evelyn Hugo! I know the hype around is huge and it honestly intimidated me for ages, but it 💯 lived up to the hype for me. I hope you enjoy it whenever you get to it! 😍

  2. Oh if it wasn’t for our mutual friend Goodreads I would have sucked at this challenge too. I legit was like I’ve never heard of any books with a number in the title…. And then a simple search of my GR bookshelves proved otherwise. What are we like Dini lol!?!! Great TTT my friend. I have read a few of these titles… You’ll be unsurprised to know I have a lot of unpopular opinions on most of them (I see you Daisy, one of us is lying…..) I need to rename my blog to Emer tears down everyone’s favourite books…. Lol 😂😂😂

    • Hahahaha “Emer, bringing you unpopular opinions since….” 😂🤣😂You are too funny! I’m really not surprised to hear about the books that you’ve got unpopular opinions in. It makes it all the more fun and rewarding to find a book we totally agree on 🤪 I love it! Haha

  3. Ohhh yes you need to reread Six of Crows. Do it now. Drop everything else and read it.

I never finished the Firebird trilogy. I think I finished the first two, and I know I liked them, but don’t know why I didn’t get to the end–probably got busy with school. Did you finish the series? Was the ending worth it?

    • I’ve honestly been soo tempted to a few times in the last month! Maybe October will be the month I finally reread it 😂
Okay, I’m gonna be honest here. My memory is THE WORST™️ and I did finish the series but… *coughmumble* I don’t remember how or what happened… 🙈 I remember an underwater world though and that’s… It… (I hope that wasn’t book two). I think I do want to reread this at some point though! I love the concept of multiverses lol

  4. Dude. How did I not think of Ready Player One?! I’m so disappointed in myself. xD I totally thought of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! But I decided to go with deaths instead of husbands, because deaths are obviously more fun. I’ve got one husband, and he’s overrated lol. Oh, A Thousand Splendid Suns, too! I’m surprised by how many number titles I know and I’ve just … forgot LOL!

    • Hahaha there were so many that I didn’t thin of either, but big shouts to my main squeeze goodreads coz I couldn’t have made this list without them 😂 The minute I saw the prompt my mind just blanked hard 😅
Also, yes, deaths are usually more fun and I was going to put that one up, but I have to be honest and say I did not enjoy those deaths 🙈hahaha the shade to your hubs though!

    • OH yay! I’ve heard some mixed reviews about Two Can Keep A Secret but I’m excited to read it. Might even bump it up to October since its perfect timing! I don’t know what else Claudia Gray writes but I’d be keen to check more out, I think 🙂
